Bigger Than Us Residency is designed for early-stage Black and Brown nonprofit founders who are ready to take their organizations to the next level. We are looking for visionaries who are:
Committed to Impact: Founders who are addressing systemic challenges and creating change in marginalized communities.
Eager to Scale: Leaders with a clear vision for growth and a desire to develop sustainable organizational models.
Open to Learning: Individuals who are ready to reflect, strategize, and embrace mentorship to strengthen their leadership and mission.
Community-Focused: Founders who believe in collaboration and are eager to build lasting relationships with peers and supporters.
To apply for Bigger Than Us Residency, applicants must meet the following criteria:
Founder or Co-Founder: Must be the founder or co-founder of a nonprofit or social impact organization.
Stage of Organization: Early-stage organizations (1-5 years old) with demonstrated impact and a vision for growth.
Location Flexibility: Willingness to commit to a 4-week international residency in an inspiring, collaborative environment.
Mission Alignment: Organizations working in racial equity, education, youth development, community organizing, human rights, refugee rights, tech for good, and similar fields.
We are seeking candidates who:
Demonstrate Resilience: Able to navigate challenges and pivot when necessary.
Embrace Innovation: Willing to think creatively and take risks to scale their impact.
Lead with Authenticity: Grounded in their values and committed to serving their communities.
Value Collaboration: Open to learning, sharing, and growing alongside a cohort of peers.
Possess a Growth Mindset: Eager to develop new skills, refine strategies, and embrace continuous learning.
Our application process is designed to identify passionate, mission-driven founders ready to make a lasting impact. Here's how it works:
Complete an online application detailing your organization’s mission, impact, and goals.
Submit supporting documents, including a leadership bio and organizational overview.
Shortlisted candidates will be invited for a virtual interview to discuss their vision, goals, and fit for the program.
Our selection committee will assess candidates based on mission alignment, leadership potential, and readiness for growth.
Finalists will receive an invitation to join Bigger Than Us Residency.
Selected participants will receive comprehensive support to prepare for the 4-week program.
